Our Mission

“The Justice Restoration Foundation exists to confront government overreach across the American justice system — and to restore accountability, due process, and proportion to a system that too often has none for the people it gets wrong.”

We are a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) educational foundation. We work at the federal level only — not state — because that focus is what lets us go deep on federal criminal procedure and the reforms that actually move it.

We build the economic case, the coalition, and the public record needed to fix procedural failures in federal criminal practice. Our argument is procedural, not emotional. We run on rules, records, and numbers.

What We Believe

“We argue the system, not the verdict.”

We never assert that any individual defendant is innocent. We argue that the federal system cannot reliably separate guilt from innocence when one side has every discovery tool and the other has almost none.

With roughly 97% of federal convictions resolved by plea and prosecutorial conduct shielded from consequence by absolute immunity, the structural claim we make is that the process itself has become the punishment. That framing is deliberate. It is bipartisan, it does not depend on any one case surviving scrutiny, and it holds up under hostile review.

What We Fight

Accountability for prosecutorial misconduct · A real remedy for the wrongly prosecuted · A fair grand-jury and charging process · An end to trial-by-press-release · An end to venue-shopping · Coerced pleas and the trial penalty · Prosecutorial-immunity reform · Restoring civil-rights remedies.

Every problem we raise comes with a solution on the same line. A list of grievances is not a reform agenda.

Our Approach

Public Education

We teach the public how the system works, where it breaks, and what fair process looks like.

Accountability & Reform

We advance legislation, policy, and legal reforms that strengthen accountability and due process.

Restoration Support

We provide resources, guidance, and community for families rebuilding after government overreach.

Storytelling & Dignity

We elevate lived experience with dignity and consent, so stories become catalysts for change.
